That didn't last too long.... lol...

Well i basically got my a$$ handed to me at every dealership lol.... Only going to give me 28K for my truck... are you kidding me?? I guess i'll have to struggle for a little bit and keep the truck... I can't believe the truck depreciated that much in like 9 months... geez...I guess it would have helped to put a bigger down payment on it, but it didn't seem important at the time..

Well Im back... and again have the mod bug.... dangit... some parts sold, so im back to a stock truck again lol... planning the ptm headlights(might do it this weekend), saving for some 35's(toyo) and an eletronic cutout exhaust...

I'll still keep the add on craigslist... but won't advertise the sell of it too much...

Oh well.. looks like i'll have to mod the crap out of it now... I'll never get the damn thing paid off lol... might keep the mirrors and handles, that i was going to sell and get them painted to match like I had originally planned...

Wow, I'm amazed they offered that much for a used F150. I paid 30K new for mine in June of 2006.

You are right though, depreciation on these things can really bite you in the long run.

True.

That's why it's worth holding on to 'em for a little while so you don't get burried.... especially if you've done some mods, as you're sure to lose big time.

Nature of the beast...

They gave you a really good price for trade in if you ask me...:coffee:

DTheobald Aug 13, 2007 01:58 PM

Well I guess I was just looking at the 8K in negative equity they were going to add to the new vehicle... but Suggested Retail Price on kbb showed 34K... so I didn't want them to make that much on me when i could have sold it for more than 28K in private seller...

Lumadar Aug 13, 2007 02:02 PM

How in the world did you spend 37k on an F150 in the first place? Harley?

Mine stickered at 36, and came home OTD after TTL for 30.3k...

It's been two years since I bought it, and I could sell it for 26k. Not too bad IMO

Im with some of the others. 28K trade in value sounds damn good to me

scott1981 Aug 13, 2007 02:05 PM

Just for kicks I checked mine on KBB, holy **** 21k. I paid 27k 10 months ago. I would be upside down if I traded, luckily I plan to run the tires off this freaking truck. Im 25 and have owned 8 vehicles since I got my license at 18. Pretty much picking up a new ride every year, Good thing I really love this truck or I would be screwed trying to unload it. In the long run I am sure it will hold a decent value but the way manufacturers are having to unload these things due to high fuel prices and the economy the short term owners will pay a hefty price

Welcome back, although I guess you never really left.

Well i think we got pretty much screwed on my deal, first off i ordered it in aug 06. paid 500 bucks, got all the bells and whistles.. delivered on Nov 06 and i picked it up... First mistake was I told them x-plan because they didn't budge at all... not one bit... they showed me invoice on the truck said this is what you get... If we took the rebates we would be at like 7.9% and at 36K... so we said no rebate and took the 5.9% and after taxes signed for 39K... I will admit my credit really screwed up the deal or else we would have walked out of there at 0%, 3500 cash back and signed for 35K...

oh well lesson learned...
