HAHA those are one of those cars that it's fun to get you and a few other guys together to pick it up and move it say sideways with a car on each side

That's a Youtube link to a crash test. You'd be surprised about the results.

I saw one of those at Target once, it was a turbo diesel one. The guy was from Canada, where they've been selling them for a number of years.
I'm not too suprised with the results. I still wouldn't want to be in one of those in the event of an accident like those.

Oh well, I guess its not as bad as this . .

Its like my quad with less suspension travel. I don't think I would fit in it. I'd take it... if I could put a lift kit and some M/T tires on it .

A couple of things I noticed.

A. No kidding about the lesbian thing. Simply put, Lesbians / Gays tend to be more sympathetic to liberal causes, and the Smart car is a 4 wheeled expression of Liberalism.

B. Where's the head on collision tests with a vehicle of some size like a Crown Victoria, or a full size truck? What about crash dummy testing? I am fairly certain even in relatively slow speed crashes, those things are suicide traps.

C. I agree we should, if we could, be driving more fuel efficient vehicles for commuting to work. Which is why I have the SL2 in the first place. I keep the F150 for weekend, and foul weather use. (A typical summer storm in Texas causes road flooding, even mild flooding will swamp the Saturn out). I do not advocate energy conservation from an environmental standpoint as I do not buy the hype from those shrill proponents of global warming. The data is far from conclusive in that area. I do support energy conservation from a national security standpoint though. And I would not be upset if we financially starved out those that want to see us dead by not buying their product. Nuff said there.

D. With more and more of these death traps on the road, there will be more and more traffic fatalities due to collisions with pickup trucks, vans, and SUVs. Do you think the media, or the liberals are going to blame the green friendly Smart car drivers for driving a death trap?

I passed one on I-20 in the commute traffic yesterday. It was doing about 70 mph, running with the flow but, the poor thing looked lost out there with real cars and trucks.

Previous F150 model of course but at 40 mph.
The smart crash test was at 70 mph.

The project idea was originally supported by Swiss watch manufacturer Swatch, and was nicknamed the "Swatchmobile". The name SMART is an acronym for Swatch Mercedes ART.
