I currently have Nitto Terra Grapplers (325/60/18). They have about 50,000 miles on them. Way more than they should. They still look good but are certainly starting to lose their meatiness. I am going to put my stockers back on for the winter. I am looking for a good tire to replace the Nittos. I have nothing against the Nittos, just curious if there is something better out there.

 

I have Pro Comp Xtreme AT's on my truck and love them. They have about 7k miles on them right now and still look brand new. They're rated at 40k miles so I see absolutely no reason why I shouldn't get that much and more out of these tires. I love the look of them, very aggressive looking, yet very quiet on the road. Watch the Pro Comp website because they'll do a buy 3 get 1 free sale from time to time also, that's how I got mine.

 

If your looking for a different A/T then I would say BFGoodrich A/T. The BFG's and the NITTO's are the best all terrain tires you can buy. IMO

 

good to hear you got that much mileage out of them. I have the same tires. I have about 20k on them and looks like they still have a bit of life left in them.

I could still get more out of them. It is not that they are in bad shape. But obviously losing some tread wear. Since I am taking them off completely for the winter I figure I might as well clean the wheels and get new tires for the spring. They have held up VERY well though.

 

I suppose it depends on the kind of look you're going for, but I had Toyo Open Country AT's on my '99 and loved them - they had decent off road grip (nowhere near mud terrains, but i do alot of highway driving), and a fairly aggressive look while still being in-cab quiet and comfortable.

My '05 just got some Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires, and they have become my new favorite, however.. Factory tires, I know, but this truck is a 2wd.

 

The Toyo Open Country A/Ts and Nitto Terra Grapplers are the same tire.

I love the Toyo Open Country M/Ts though. They'll be on my truck when these wear out.
