Lost Keys, Now What

I removed the Securi-lock (PATS) fuse (5amp). I was looking for the fuel pump but no fuse is associated, there was an injector fuse however.

I am assuming my next step would be to contact the dealership, have a key made, replace my keyless entry transponder, ignition, tailgate and drivers door locks. I'm somewhat confident they're stolen as I believe they were outside on my jet ski while I was working on them. It hurts me to even think of the cost I'm about to undergo :[ If anyone has any advice let me know. I am going to get a key locator this time around, I did not receive a spare with the truck (previous owner resides in Illinois, doubt it's an issue).

This has been a terrible week, one of my worst. A good friend of mine is in a coma after a jet skiing accident the other day, skull shattered, broken back and more. Am seeing her tomorrow, for those of you who do please pray. She's the blonde below.

While I can't offer up any advice on the key issue, I truly hope that your friend recovers soon. That’s horrible. For what it’s worth I’ll say a little prayer tonight….

Sorry.

Two new keys, new driver's door lock cylinder, ignition lock and tail gate lock cylinders. Key code erase.

And sorry about your friend.

Nope, I don't have a parts catalog that lists prices at home. Guestimating, figure $80 for two keys, maybe $100-150 for a complete lock set, $20-30 to get things keyed alike by a lock smith, $45 to program the keys, and whatever labor to install the locks themselves - I'd say a couple hours labor at least, at anywhere from $70-100/hour.

Wow, sounds like a real rough week. While I can't help you on your situation, I can help on hers. Prayers sent.

I'm pulling for your girl bro, I was in this same situation with a friend that was in an atv accident. The best thing you can do is exactly what your doing. My prayers are with her. As far as the keys, the best thing I can recommend is to get the locks changed. My brother had a car stolen because someone took his keys and he thought he "lost" them.

Man... that's just bad luck... more than the usual Friday the 13th bad luck.

I have a feeling it's gonna cost you around $350 to have everything changed out.

I feel bad for your friend... not fair man... not fair. But I'll keep her in my prayers.

Bad, bad luck. Prayers sent.

As for your lock problem, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's possible to get new keys and then have the original locks re-keyed to accept them. There may be some money saved going that route if it's possible. *shrug*
