Why couldnt you just keep the flashlight in your truck and just pop the hood and TADA! There is a wonderfull beautiful light illuminating your engine bay. Brilliant? I know. I wish my truck had one of those things.....

I wish mine had a light. Every other damn vehicle on the road has one. I cant even check my damn oil in my garage because its just that much to dark. If I had a damn light...done.

Have you ever tried to hold 13 different things, plus run a ratchet, and have to be holding a damn flashlight at the same time because Ford is to damn cheap for a light. Would be a heck of a lot easier if they had a light, even if they arent that bright they are better then nothing.

The family's owned 12 different cars in the 7 years I've lived in the US and not one of those vehicles has had a under-hood light; so I don't understand your "every other damn vehicle on the road has one..." comment.

Maybe we're just not driving one of those "every other damn vehicle on the road..." you speak of.

97 -03 F150s had a underhood light. If ford is trying to cut costs on the 04+ f150s they should have kept the useless coin holder and given me an underhood light.

Ohh, see, you must be driving 'every other vehicle on the road' instead of 'every other damn vehicle on the road.'

See the difference??

I apologize for the misunderstanding

The Purpose of hood lights:

Its used when you are drunk with your buddies and you need somthing to do. You go outside, pop the hood and wahlah! You can see everything you are slurring about.

That's why I wish I had one too.

My 1991 Cheby, had a retractable light on a wire, that had a magnetic base, & reached all around the vehicle..........

Yeah, I carry a Surefire Kroma in my center console. It's never let me down. Like has been said here before though, sometimes it is hard to hold a flashlight when you need both hands. It's good to have a friend or a son (or a girl, if you're single) to hold the light for you.
