As I was told, a couple miles won't hurt, most odometers are off a bit anyhow, so over 1000's during the life of the truck 50 miles may be minimal. Me being a bit more retentive, I pulled off and switched out losing just a 1/10th of a mile.

Well my dealership finally got back with me about this. I know the owner of the dealership, so I was hoping he could pull some strings to have my odometer reading corrected but it turns out he can't.

I understand the reasons for these precautions in preventing odometer fraud, but in my case they're making it hard for the honest guy. All I want is a cluster with a message center that reads the correct mileage on the odometer.

Anyways, I'm not going to put a cluster that reads 17,000 miles on it in my brand new truck so if you're interested in a Lariat cluster with a stainless gauge overlay (US Speedo), keep an eye on the classifieds.

Maybe you should just keep it in your garage somewhere until you hit the 17,000 mile mark and put it back on. PITA i know, but atleast you can keep it.

LOL yeah I thought about doing that because I know if I sell it I'll never buy another one again.

I have a friend w/ a 2006 Luxury package FX4 that wants one. He's probably getting close to the 17k mark.

Cooperhead, do the FX2's have message centers?

I was possibly interested in your FX4 cluster...I personally like it better than the Lariat cluster.

I don't know why they don't put it in the FX4 w/ the luxury package. It already has the EATC, the panel w/ the hole for the message center buttons, and the wiring harness that plugs into the message center buttons. All that's required is using a different cluster and plugging in the buttons.

You were interested in my Lariat wood grain panel too and then all the sudden you stopped responding to me.

Well guys, another member here which I won't name was able to help me out with the odometer reading. It's going to cost $100 + S&H both ways to get it corrected. If you need help similar to what I needed I suggest you create a thread and he'll probably contact you.

Long story short... I won't be selling the Lariat cluster after all.
