New Retrax

Just got my new Retrax today... as you can see I couldn't wait to install.

Fit is pretty tight back by the tailgate. Instructions indicated to have 1/8 inch play but there is no way that is happening. Anyway, still moves pretty easy.

Thanks! It's getting there... rims and tires are up next! That'll be awhile though... I have to carefully time these things so I don't end up in divorce court.

Congrats on the Retrax! Looks great, I have had mine for about a year now and love it. I love the ability to go from a secure covered bed to an oped bed in like 5 seconds. Haul a 4 wheeler one minute and keep bags dry and secure the next.

Oh and mine fits pretty tight around the tailgate to, no issues so far.

Love your truck, Good Work!

Definately tight at my tailgate as well. Probably one of my favorite mods so far even though it doesn't draw all the attention. Being able to load up my paintball gearbag with 7 guns, go out for a days play and know that when I stop for food on the way home I can lock it all down is great. Being able to open it all up and do large projects is just the icing on the cake.

Looks nice! Where are you guys getting yours from?

A week and a half ago I removed my glass lid (& bedslide to reduce weight - picked up 2mpg) and most likely I it won't be going back on. I'm thinking this will be my next purchase.

I ordered my cover direct from the Retrax over the phone. Thats just because there was no dealers anywhere near me when I ordered it.
You can check out www.rolltopcover.com if you havent already.

Got mine direct as well. Got mine for $200 off by waiting for a "defective" one. Took me 2 weeks to find the little ripple in the cover. Definately a savings worth taking advantage of.

Ditto here... Ordered mine direct from them also. It's the same price no matter where you go. (At least everywhere that I checked.) Even the websites that offer free shipping add at least $50 to ship.

I ordered the tailgate gasket also... although I have yet to install it.

It seems pretty easy to take in and out. I'm not sure how much I am going to be doing that though. With my luck it would fall over and end up scratching.

Have any of y'all with the retrax had any leaks yet? Do you think it could support a 180lb man standing on it?

I wouldnt recommend standing or putting much weight on the cover, never tried it myself, but for the price of them I wouldnt want to risk it. I would be scared to put to much weight in a small area and risk denting it. I will say tho, they do seem to be a well constructed unit, you'll notice some expansion and contraction and the odd ripple, but they seem to dissappear with temperature changes, atleast with mine anyway.

I have always loved the Ford Flareside trucks, I've want a Blue Flareside F150 since I was knee high to a grasshopper. So once I got my career up and running, it didnt take me long to place an order.
