This really suprised me

I recommend finding out what the X-Plan amount is, and shoot for that as the selling price (then subtract cash-back incentives). Ford has an un-published website that gives x-plan & a-plan pricing WITHOUT having to input a PIN. The website is in these forums somewhere, you just have to search for it.

Found it. Here's the site: http://www9.forddirect.fordvehicles....RL=FordPartner
You need to search dealer inventory. It will tell you the x-plan pricing.

The dealer has to sell the vehicle above invoice to make a profit, but they're reimbursed for the incentives by Ford. So if you do pay $200 below invoice, but there's $2000 woth of incentives on the vehicle, the dealer still made $1800 profit.
I didn't click on that link bamorris provided above, but maybe the incentive information is on that site somewhere. I know there is a site where you can see what incentives/rebates are available. Some incentives/rebates vary between options... for example, right now there's $4000 worth of incentives on super cab and only $3545 on regular cab and super crew.
And for you guys saying you've bought F-150's for $10,000 and $12,000 under sticker price... sorry but you're wrong! Maybe that's what the paper work said, but if so, they manipulated the numbers from your trade in or something. See below...
Currently the MSRP on a base FX4 4X4 SuperCrew Flareside 6.5' Box is $35,375. The A-plan price is $31,072 which is already below invoice. Plus you get an additional $3545 in rebates making the net total cost of the vehicle $27,527. That is $7848 below MSRP for an A-plan customer. If a dealer did sell this truck at that price to a non A-plan customer, they would loose money let alone taking off another $2000-4000 to get to the $10000 and $12000 below MSRP prices you guys are boasting. Sorry, but it's not going to happen... dealers aren't in business to loose money.

There are several ways for a dealership to take off or make money from a deal aside from the invoice price. There are all kind of perks they get from stocking fees, inventory levels, etc... I'm not nearly as good at working them as my grandfather is (retired Ford salesman). He's never paid more than $3,000 under invoice and it's usually a good bit less. And always sells his used trucks private party since it's so easy for them to roll lost money from the sale price into a low trade in price.

Here is how the math works in case you are a little mathematically challenged:
Sticker price: $35,5xx
Running boards: $400 (truck did not have them, so I had them put on)
Total Price (MSRP): $35,9xx
I had no trade in (and I always get a cash price first if I do trade). The out the door price (without TTL) was $24,146. Now, do the math and subtract:
$35,9xx
-$24,146
-----------
$11,800
that is off the stick price buddy. Now, here's how it works:
$35,9xx sticker price
$30,646 invoice price
- 500 (sold under invoice)
- 5,000 rebates
- 1,000 dealer cash (special offer from Ford at the end of '05 to sell more trucks, dealer returned this to me)
----------------
$24,146
If I were you, I wouldn't be running your mouth saying it couldn't happen until you know all the facts. I signed the papers on 12/31/05, the last day of the year. Do you think there was a little additional incentive on that day? Yep. Were there more rebates then than now? Yep. Was there a larger difference between invoice and MSRP then than there is today? Yep. Did the dealer still make money? Yep.
So, I can tell you from first-hand experience that it does happen. Personally, I don't give a rip what the sticker price is. All that matters to me is what I pay for the truck. It could have a 26k sticker or a 55k sticker, as long as I am comfortable with what I pay, that's all that matters.

I just wanted to look up your sale price, MSRP, and invoice price of your truck.
Very funny about the social security and bank account numbers, but in case you didn't know... a bum off the street could look through your windshield to read your VIN. It's not exactly private and it's not possible to get any personal information from it... only vehicle information.
