rain vents - are they worth it
when i bought my truck the sales chick thru in a set of ford rain vents and im think about finally putting them on. the truck is true blue and the vents are smoked so i think they wont look bad but my old man has a set on his 2000 f150 and the wind hitting them makes an annoying sound. im just curious if this is gunna happen to me also when i put them on? let me know if u have the vents and if they cause any noticable wind noise. thanks guys

For me... louder with windows open, no difference with windows closed...

Luv mine too!!!:smoke:

next to exhaust one of the best mods!

Allows me to get some fresh air into the cab on the steamy / rainy days here, keeps the windshield clear. Not only didn't I notice any added noise, they seemed to cut down the windows down noise a hair...

I got mine so I can keep my windows cracked on those really hot days and the best part about it is that no one can see if you have your window open. It also allows you to crack the windows on those hot rainy days too. Dang does it make a difference when those two are cracked open and there is some fresh air going in the truck on a 85F+ day. It helps when I turn the A/C on too. I think that vehicles these days should automatically come with them. I had them on my '99 and I loved them.

If they weren't so darn ugly I'd get a set too. No offense but I'm convinced Lund had a hand in their creation.

I got the lund but after looking at the weathertechs I'd get those instead. Definitely worth it for ventilation and keeping rain out with cracked windows.
|
Whatever you do, get the "in channel" vents. The others stick on the outside and look tacky....
|
I'd make a deal to install them if we could just get some freekin rain here.
|
WTF are "rain vents?"

rain vents
I had them on my 99 and could not wait to get rid of the truck because of them. The glue they use is so tough that to remove them rips the weather stripping.
Seriously, sit in a truck that has these installed and check for vision restrictions. Because of the smoked nature of these vents they give the forward pillar the feeling of being 12" wide in my opinion. They may look cool from the outside but they do restrict your vision from the inside. |

I've had them on my last three vehicles. It is great for ventilation on hot days. I have had the in channel and exterior mount ones and I recommend the exterior ones. The interior ones can throw your window slightly off track when the window is rolled up. Just my opinion though. |
