Interesting idea, but you can kiss your powertrain warranty goodbye the first time a ford tech sees your handiwork.

I think he probably doesn't care considering all the other work into it!

you got me curious and I started looking...where is this 80mm you keep referencing? I even found the Aussie Ford performance vehicle site and they are using the 75mm with the 5.4. as far as I can tell, the F-150 is not even offered for sale in Australia unless you custom import it and get the custom right hand drive work done.

Now does the shelby gt500 with the 5.4L 3v run the 4.6 throttle body as well? I am guessing that would be the primary bottleneck in terms of difficulty in the swap?

ther shelby GT has a 5.4 4v. the block is ours, but the heads are Ford GT heads. it does use twin 57 mm stock. 833cfm is plenty for stock.

Considering its an 05 F150 motor in a 96 stang, I dont think there is much of a warranty to cover there anyway.

I was told the Shelby GT (not the GT500) does come with a larger throttle body state side with the 4.6. I am assuming you are referring to the 5.4 4v being the Aussie motor?

The throttle body off the GT500 (seen one off the car) is freakin' HUGHE!
I can't imagine it being too long before someone attempts to get one of those on a Lightning or HD truck.

I got that. My original statement was intended for the majority of readers (those with 04-07 trucks under warranty). We would have a lot more to lose trying this mod than the OP.
