Need Help With Rear Doors Locking

Hey guys hoping this is an easy one. I have an 06 XLT Screw. Is there a way to program all of the doors to unlock at the same time, instead of getting out of the front and my wife telling me everytime to unlock the back door so she can get the little man out. Thanks

there is no way to have the doors auto unlock when you put the truck in park or turn the ignition off. You can make it so they dont autolock-that way all the doors would be unlocked (if you unlocked them) when you go to get your kid out. I would just have the child locks engaged so that the child could not accidentally open the door from the inside while driving. You can disable this by looking in your manual.

I know what you are talking about but as far as I know there is no way to program the truck to automatically unlock when you shut the truck off. Always makes me mad when I get out of my truck then walk around to the passenger side and realize that I forgot to unlock the doors.

I was thinking that you could put some sort of switch in that would activate when you put it into park or something like that. Not sure what kind of switch you would use that would send just like one pulse to the lock switch without having to stay on though.

I have yet to find a way either. Drives me nuts as well and the wife's 06 Freestyle does the same thing.

Keep us posted if you figure it out

No - its not the child lock. I have to push unlock 2x for anyone in my rear seat to get out.

Child lock is the little switch on the door (visible w/ the rear doors open) that prevents the doors from being opened from the inside.

Two quick presses of the unlock button (on drivers or front pass door) will do the trick.

- Yes annoying.

I installed a Bulldog RS1100 Remote Start that locks/unlocks all door at once w/ the remote. No more one push for driver, 2nd push for remaining doors.

It only take me one press of the driver's side door unlock button for all my doors to unlock. From the remote it takes 2 presses of the unlock button to open all doors.

Aside from disengaging the autolock feature, the only other known 'fix' is to add the Viper alarm system. The installer can then program it such that all doors will automatically unlock upon placing the vehicle in park. whitecrystal1 has done this. He also "had to turn off the oem auto lock because they both would lock the doors and I didn't want to wear out the actuators."

I added the remote start for the remote start feature. The lock/unlock was just a perk.
