yes, but a bonus to mount it on top gives like 2 inches of extra space behind the seat plus a factory sitting height for the back cushion.

Thanks for the info. Now this all makes sense. I think since the back of the cab is still torn apart, I'm going to take it apart and put it back in so the back of the seat is on the floor.

The back of my seat back sits on the ground and I have no clearance issues on my amps which are both about 2 inches thick
