sensors?

hey guys first time posting here, im a lightning owner and belong to nloc, but seeking some info for my fathers new to him 2005 5.4 f-150, we are wondering what the sensors are on the valve covers one under the power sterring resavior and the other next to the oil cap. the truck is a week old to us with 30k on it and we hear some sort of ticking "not injectors" and can feel it through these 2 sensors so we are trying to do a little bit of home work on it before we bring it back to the dealer.any info greatly appreciated.
