38x15.5R18 ATZ's with 6in Pro Comp and a 3in Body Lift?

Ok, can I fit 38x15.5R18 ATZ's with 6in Pro Comp and a 3in Body Lift, on a 05 4x4?

Would I have any problems?

Could I run a 9in wide rim? What are some good, less expensive 18x10 rims?

I also already have 4.56 gears, would these be fine with the 38's?

Let me know ASAP. If it is going to work I am going to order the tires tomorrow. Let me know what you all think.

Thanks,
Kaleb

Go with at least a 10" wide wheel, it'll probally clear with a little rubbing.

The gears will be fine.

Where are you going to order the tired from and how much if you dont mind me asking? Let me know how your setup works out I was thinking of the exact same set-up

Ok, I have been looking at the 18x10 Mazzi Hulk. I see patshea has 38's on these rims and fits them with a 8in rize. So I should be ok with 9 inches of lift.................right? If anything I could get rancho's or bilsteins and crank them an inch right? Let me know what you all think.

I am getting the tires for about $1000 for the set shipped, but they are blems, but they are guaranteed to have no defects that will not affect balancing or anything. That is also after a $200 rebate that mickey thompson is offering right now.

Thanks

I will clear 39.5's no problem with a 3" body on this 6" Fabtech, unless procomp is that much diff w/out coilovers then you should be just fine on 38's!

Ok, am thinking I will order the 38x15.5R18 ATZ's. Should I get 4 or 5 of them? Is it good to have a full size spare? How many people actually do? Will the stock spare work, if I needed it to? I am also thinking I will get some 18x10 Mazzi Hulks, I have not decided on black or chrome yet though. Any other good rims in this size? Should the 4.56's be ok with this size tire?

Thanks

I would probably get a spare... You can usually get it a little cheaper or just do all the damage at once. I don't have a full size spare and I don't think that the stock spare is very good that would be A LOT of flex. I took my spare out. It would be nice to have on a road trip. I don't know if you have ever move one of those sobs but they are HEAVY. My 37x13.50R17 is smaller and lighter. It always crosses my mind when I am driving home. You have to carry a high-lift jack or a floor jack with you too though. Don't forget that. If I were you I would get 4.88's. I would probably try 20's if you could too. That is just my 2 cents. Good luck!

If I had not already bought gears then I would get 4.88's, but I already got 4.56's w/ master install kits. Right now I am really debating the spare tire issue. On one hand it would be nice to have but on the other it would be a pain to have in the bed cause it would take up alot of the bed space. My dad said not to worry about it cause they patch them on the side of the road for like $75. Would I need a high lift jack, or could I just put some blocks under my regular jack?

What do you all think?

So, should I or should I not get a spare? Let me know asap, the place closes in about an hour and I wanted to get my order in today. Let me know what you all think.

Thanks

Ok, I think I am not getting a spare.

Now for rims, if I got helo blasters, that would be better backspacing than the mazzi hulks right? The 18x10 Mazzi Hulk have 4.5in of Back Spacing, and the 18x10 Helo Blasters have 5.89in of Back Spacing. If I got the Blasters would my tire rub the frame or anything? Let me know what you all think.

Thanks

Sorry I missed your post and I been at work and watching movies. Haha. Anyways lets see. Well I guess its cool you didn't get a spare I don't have one yet. I actually have some old tires at home so I need to get a 17x9 rim. Anyone have any cheap used ones? About backspacing and sizing I don't know too much about that. You will probably need a high lift jack. I have a floor jack that I got from Sears or something and it almost maxes out. I wouldn't use a block... That's just me.

kalebarellano May 9, 2007 02:57 PM

Well, I ordered my tires and I found me a set of 18x10 Helo Blasters with 5.89in backspacing. So I am going to go for it. I am hoping it will fit with just a 6in + 3in, but if I need to I will get rancho's or bilsteins, and crank them an inch or even two.

Here is a pic of the rims. What do you all think?
