I have only seen 1 truck on this site that had 35s 2.5" level, and aftermarket wheels. It looked like he had to do a bunch of trimming. Whatever you do though make sure you check the backspacing on your wheels.

I have no spacers of any kind. The only thing I have done is pull the inner fender liner back a couple inches, which only took 5 minutes.

Well, I hated to see my 315 BFG's sitting in my shed not mounted on wheels, so I'm going to try them on again. Ordered some American Racing Crush wheels and hope to get the tires on tommorrow. Ought to give a little more clearance than the wheels I have on now. I'll just have to keep from going offroad.

oopsss

If you look at my truck you would noticed I installed my tire wrong rotation. I noticed that a couple days ago. I take them off for winter. Got to find time to switch that.

How the heck do you manage that? Someone would be fixing that for free.

I sent Wandell a PM earlier this evening but he's yet to reply. Seeing as this thread touches on my concerns, I'll ask here and hope someone can chime in with some insight.

My truck's a 2005 Lariat 4X4 Screw. My truck will have a 2.5" levelling kit installed on Friday. There's no other lift. I was originally going to stay with OEM 18" wheels and throw some 35's on them but I figured "hey, you only live once so go the whole shabang."

I'm going with the Moto Metal 951 20X10's wrapped with Toyo Open Country MT's 35x12.50R20's.

I don't understand anything about "backspacing" or "offset." It's just not my strong area . . . but I know these two words are important in the selection of aftermarket wheel/tire combos because I've been reading about them more n' more of late.

My question is this: I want my wheels/tires to stick out no greater than 1" more than what the OEM wheel/tire combo did [2" at absolute best]. Do I need to tell my guy anything about "backspacing" or "offset" before he orders the parts and performs the install or am I worrying over nothing? Will this combo fit fine or should I alter something?

I don't care about any shaving of the fender wall or guard lip. I just don't want any "bulge" when viewed from from the side and no rubbing whatsoever. I know this wheel/tire combo is what I'm after in terms of appearence after researching for many months on these boards, but after reading several threads/posts of late, I'm begining to think maybe this in' gonna work...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

you don't want 35" tires then...you will stick out that 2" or more and there will be some rubbing.

Am I better off with the 33" Toyo Open Country MT's?

The 35" MT's are listed at 13" overall width as opposed to the 33" which are listed at 12.6" [LINK]

That's about one-half inch difference, which isn't a lot.

Any idea how much more pertrusion than the OEM tires I can expect with either size Toyos?

I would like to "fill" in the wheel-to-fender gap and that's why I opted for the 35's.

Guys 35's are going to rub even with a 2.5" leveling kit. Your 315's are slightly smaller and that .5 inch is just enough to make a difference.

Jump in the aftermarket tire and wheels forum here and search the post there. From what I recall 35's will not fit on a 2x4 even with a 2.5" kit because the suspension is smaller.
