That's what they want you to believe. I think they are price gouging us just like the oil barons. I mean shoot if you can afford 20" rims you gotta be able to afford the more expensive tires right. Right?

I just bought a set of Cooper Discoverer ATR's 275/70/18 (33x9x18). 1st runs are $239 here and I bought the blems for $207. Blems have cosmetic flaws to the white letters and I like the black walls out so this worked good for me. They also have a 50000 mile tread warranty.

this really isnt true, i have worked in the aftermarket wheel and tire industry for 5-6 years and have been to pirelli, michelin, and continental r&d and manufacturing plants. their really is alot more that goes into larger diameter tires than you think

the 18" rim isn't a popular rim size yet. the 20"+ rims are popular, that's why they are cheapers...give the 18" another year or so and you'll see prices come down.

the companies did the R&D for the 18" tires, now they need to become more widespread to offset that R&D cost. I'm betting your average 18" LT tire with "C" load rating will soon be <$200 per tire if not already. However, you also got to remember that a good truck tire will cost ~$200-250 no matter what the size. LT tires have more materials and higher wieght ratings than P tires.
