For some reason, which I am not complaining about, my mileage this past tank jump to 16.55 mpg mixed city/highway. And about 70 miles on the tank I had 2000lbs in the bed, usually in mixed driving I see around 15mpg. Which even at 15 I am happy with figureing the way that I drive, usually taking off from stops it sees 3000-4000 rpms, and then the bigger tires and heavier wheels.
Good luck...

Try getting 8-10 mpg! A blower isnt supposed to decrease your fuel economy but what they dont tell you is that you could gain a substantial amount of weight in your right foot. I also do probably less than 5% highway driving ever. Filling up is starting to become a joke too-last fillup which was at 1/4 tank took 26 gallons and was a little over $85! Alot of pumps around here only let you put in $75 at a time too which is pretty stupid is you ask me. O well pay to play.

If you want fuel economy, well just trade it in for the Fusion or something.

When driving into Chicago (about 45 miles) through the traffic, I have manged 19-20mpg driving conservatively. This is with roughly 700lbs in the bed too. Around town I can get 13-14 with no problem. Driving to St. Louis (300 miles) I manage 16-17mpg, but this is at 65-70mph. I have no drivetrain mods. I do have a ReTrax.

don't waste your money on 91 octane. the F-150 just can't utilize it. it may also lead to carbon build-up in the head that can cause you plug issues later.
I forgot to say change the fuel filter, but it looks like someone already said that.

actually, I was getting 18 mpg going 75 mph through the Rocky Mountains with 20+ mph winds...people who get low MPG (usually anyways) are getting that due to their driving habits. the 5.4 does suck gas, but it isn't exactly a guzzler all the time...just parts of the time.
btw, you can get the fuel line connector tool at most Auto stores for <$10...it's called an A/C Hose Tool Connector. Most of them come with 5 or so different sized clips on a common base
I normally stay out of these, but I get 12 city, 16 highway...I think once I saw 14 in the city, but maybe I divided wrong that day or something. As long as I don't hit 10, I'm happy. My old Dakota with a 3.9 only got 10 mpg.
I don't know weather the "acetone" mixed with fuel idea works for everyone and anyone or not but I do remember Mythbusters doing an episode on this a while back and, while it didn't cause any damage to the engine or any mechanical parts whatsoever, it did next to nothing for improved fuel consumption. In fact, it slightly increased fuel consumption. [LINK]
Many claim, on various boards, the Mythbusters episode/test was flawed.
For the record, I ran acetone in my modded '04 GTO maybe one-half dozen times over a eight month period. I used two and one-half oz. for every ten gallon fill. I did see a slight improvement in EVERY instance but it wasn't dramatic. Certainly not enough for me to continue doing it. It became a PITA over time so I stopped using it. I had absolutely NO engine problems whatsoever.
I did the identical thing in my wife's bone-stock '02 Highlander for close to a year. There was, this time, a significant improvement with no engine problems [whatsoever] but, once again, it became a PITA so I discontinued it.
I also believe that acetone use is dependent. Meaning factors like driving conditions, driving styles, driving habits and most importantly vehicle/engine type will depend on weather it works or not... or at least how well it works or not.
For the record, I don't recommend or condemn it's use.... I've just forwarded my experience.
Your call entirely.
Good luck.
