This one allows the use of the hitch while its in place, and its a bolt on, not slide in mount.

I saw a new backup light setup that plugs into the 7-pin harness receiver at Advance, but it's kind of ugly, and easily stolen. I don't know about the light output. It like 25 bucks. It is one bulb + reflector that plugs into the factory 7-pin. Shaped like a flashlight, if that helps (I couldn't locate a picture).

Brighter bulbs don't do squat! I have PIAA in my third brake light clears, and in my reverse tailights. A little brighter, but not helpful at all. You need aux lights for any type of improved lighting. Check my gallery for well hidden back up lights that work great. You don't see them unless you bend down, or put the truck in reverse.

I did a nifty circuit for controlling my backup lights. Click sig for details.

Someone has done it (I can't remember who though.) There are pics on this site with the how-to. Use search to track it down.
