Hey guys,

I just picked up a set of OEM 20's from a 2006 F150 Lariat with chrome center caps for my 2005 FX4. Wheels went on no problem and reused my stock lugs, however the chrome center caps did not fit. It appeared that my stock lugs werent long enough to allow the chrome cap to fit on to. My original FX4 caps off my 18" wheels fit the OEM 20's perfectly. For the 2006 Lariats with 20" rims and chrome caps, are the lug nuts longer than the ones used on the FX4 and/or Lariat 18" rims? I also noticed for 2007 that the Lariats no longer appear with chrome center caps, i.e. all 2007 20" rims use the same "exposed lug" center cap. Anyone have ideas as to why my chrome caps won't fit? By the way the 20's look kick *** on my truck. I'm gonna do a full detail tomorrow, clay bar and all. I'll update my sig.

 

No clue on the caps, but good job on the rims. Can't wait to see the post detail pics.

 

When I got my OEM 20's, I noticed that there is a (L)left and (R)right chome center cap. They have different P/N's. I reused the lugs from my 17's and all fit fine. If I get the chance, I'll pull off one each side to see what's what.

 

That would be fantastic! Especially if you had a picture of what your lugs look like <<<That didn't really sound right

That helps a bunch, thanks! Based on your help, I have found that I have the wrong chrome center caps. The ones I got are off the base steely type chrome wheels. Plus the inners have 6 lugs not 4. Oh well. Should I keep the FX4 caps or go for the correct chrome caps?
