Talking Finally an F-150 owner.

Hello all,
I've been lurking for a while, just joind few days ago. Great work, excellent knowledge base.

After lusting for a F-150 for a while I finally broke down and bought a F-150.
04 Reg Cab, 4.6L, 2WD, STX, Gray metalic with grey interior. 38800 miles.
By reading the posts on this forum, I've completed my first mod this week.
I installed a 6CD/MP3 player, it took all 20 minutes, and even that long because I left a CD in the old player, so I had to switch back and get the CD out. Went smoothly, works great.

What are some of the issues expected around 40K miles? What to look out for?
I'm thinking about going to full syn at next oil change. K&N probably after that.

Cheers

Clint

Welcome to the site. As for the 40k mile isues I dont know my truck is at 22k
But I think people are servicing there trany some are also changing spark plugs because some have had them break at 80-100k miles. Where are you from?

Congrats Clint, welcome to the boards.

I'd make sure the 30K mile service has been complete, other than that you should be good to go.

Welcome to the site. Like what was said in the previous posts I am not sure what to look for as I am only at around 4,000 but I would make sure that the service schedule has been followed and if not do the things that should have been done before.

Already lusting for a FX2 grille

Thank you all for the Welcome. Some Bad A$$ trucks in the sig pics. I'll take a pic of my rig soon, and upload it. (I'll try to keep it as close to 100K as I can get)

I'm from Charleston SC.

Going from Lexus LS400 to 150 is a huge change, but I'm loving it, it's not the best selling truck for 30 odd years for nothing.

You're right about holding onto the Credit Card, because I'm already thinking about the FX2 grille. What's a good place for it? Going rate?

If I give my VIN # to ford dealer in town can they look up the service history? given that it's been performed at ford dealership.

Will post the results of my first 400 mile r/t trip. I'm going to take this trip with dino oil, and next time I go I'll go with full syn & K&N, it'll be interesting to see how much difference I can see.

Truck on,
Clint.

good job, you'll love the ford. I have almost 65k on my 04 5.4 and havn't done a thing to it other than change the oil. No problems, trany fluid still looks great (hwy miles). Just enjoy the new ride!
