PIE Harness Install
PIE Harness Install
Hi all,
I have a 2004 F-150 with Audiophile. It is not the MP3. I also have the Rear seat DVD player. I contacted PIE to ask what I could use to run my XM Commander and an iPOD while still keeping my DVD Player. They told me to get the X3-FRD/P2 harness:

and the X3 triple auxiliary interface:

My question is, how difficult is it to install the harness? Looks like the wires are loose and I would have to tie into the existing harness somehow? I don't know too much about electronics installation. So is this is something I could tackle myself pretty easily, or should I get a professional to install it?
Anybody else used these specific parts to tie in iPOD and or Satellite radio?

I just finished my PIE installation about an hour ago for my Sirius satellite radio. I ended up just tying into the cigarette lighter power and ground. Peel back the wire wrap, cut the wires, add a touch of solder and wire-nutted the connections together. Whole thing took me about 15 minutes.
