Center Console Lid.....

What other options fo we have out there? I did a search and really couldnt find what I was looking for. I have a 07 FX4 Screw and dont really like the plastic lid. is there a replacement or a cover with FX4 embroidered in it or something that's better than what I have?

I installed an extra lid that I had from doing the center console conversion on my Reg cab truck. The lid that came with the truck '05 FX4 felt too hard for my tastes and I rest my elbow on it most of the time. The lid I swapped it out with came off of a center console that I bought off ebay and it looks like leather...I don't think it actually is though. But it has quite a bit more give to it when you rest your arm on it.

Saw a Harley lid on eBay a week or so ago, as far as I know that's it for options. It looked like a better grade cover, but I'm not certain it's any different. I wouldn't mind having a better lid, but it's needs to be gray.

I took my standard XLT center console lid (captain chairs) down to a local automotive upholstry shop. Had them add a few inches of high-density foam, and cover it in black leather (the real stuff). Looks better, but more importantly, it feels better to my elbow.

BTW, I've since changed out the handle to a black one. Looks good!

I have the lariat lid and I find it comfortable on the elbow.

Great idea! May I ask how much and where the shop is that did the work? (I will be in SoCal later this month and would like to have mine done while I am there.)

Lariat lid and Harley lid are two Ford options. I like the Lariat lid and me and my bro installed them on our trucks. The Harley lid was the same shape - squared off - as the FX4 but much nicer, I liked the rounded Lariat one.

It called Bates Upholstery, and it's in Riverside. I can't recall the exact price, but I think it was around $50.

I actually ordered a Lariat Lid... When it comes it I'll compare the two and see if it's really worth making the swap!
