$300 Pacesetter Longtubes :D

No ceramic coating, nor hi-flow cats. What are the downsides to no ceramic coating? I removed my two rear cats already so I am ok without hi-flows. Just something that arouses my curiousity, would it be safe to run the truck while I have no exhaust manifold on one side of the engine, just momentarily to hear how open headers should sound.

Vehicles ran headers for a long time before ceramic coatings were put on them.

I've ran many sets of them without it in the past and the only thing that happens is that the paint will burn off and they will rust.

I don't suggest running your truck very far without an exhaust manifold unless you want to possibly burn valves or melt anything plastic in close proximity.

The paint will burn off and they will rust with out the coating. And I would not run the truck with no header or manifold it. For an extra $130 you can get the coated ones.

Those headers shown don't have any collector flanges on them.

I'm not sure that I would be too crazy about a slip joint / clamp connection there personally.

Besides, if you have a flange..... they're way easier to uncap if the mood ever strikes you.

hah, good point. As for coating, how much would it be to have it coated locally? I'm sure I can apply this myself, how pricey are cans at the hardware store if they do in fact exist.
