I witnessed an accident with a person who had a Ford Escape and it got hit by a F150... it like chopped that little suv up in half and the occupants got hurt pretty badly (driver was in the hospital for 6 weeks!), especially the driver. The driver of the Escape went through a red light, and the guy in the F150 was going at highway speed (55 mph) and it was too late. The woman in the F150 didn't get hurt... and the airbags didn't even have to go off. The truck basically pushed that little suv like a big plow. So that is why it didn't set them off.

I believe the person driving the Escape lost his leg or something.

Makes me scared everytime I drove my Escape... I'm happy I am no longer in my "death trap".

It sure doesn't look like a "total" from the picture! The best thing about bent frames is that it means, "Time to go shopping for a new truck!"

airbags are fun, it's like a sock in the face. Be glad, I remember mine vividly.

And thats terrible about your truck, I wouldn't mind buying and rebuilding it!

What on earth was that guardrail made of?

Seriously though, what was suppose to happen, happened!

The truck "crumbles" or "caves" absorbing all the inpact and keeps the occupants in tact and safe.

Glad you're OK.
