Hey,
my 04 f150 supercrew fx4 with a 5.4 at idle is almost knocking. Sounds like a diesel pickup? I dont know if its the fuel injectors or what? But it sounds like ****? Anyone had this problem? How did you go about getting it fixed?

Also, i upgraded to the 06 bumper, but im having trouble finding good used or aftermarket fog lights so i dont hvae to buy them from ford, i need the mounting brackets to. I found aftermarket ones on ebay for $70.00, but the mounting hardware isnt the same , its just the u bracket, like to mount them underneath you're bumper.

My truck just had the engine replaced at 65K miles for rod knock. I bought it w/ 42K and it had the 5/75 extended warranty thank God! No abuse that I can tell (can't speak for the previous owner but it was babied as far as I can tell) and mines not modded at all engine wise. Make sure you have oil change receipts. Mine had low compression on #1, cams on one side were worn bad, and the rods were knocking.. Do you have extended warranty?

If not, get it diagnosed at a shop that isn't a Ford Dealership. If it is the rods, buy an extended warranty and then take it in. Not suggesting you do this to cover up any abuse you may have done only to exploit a loophole for you before Ford exploits a loophole for them... 2004's shouldn't need new engines..
