I have a Manik and was "told" that you lost your tow hooks with them. I'm a 4x2, so it's a non-issue. But, other 4x4 owners on here with Maniks say that the tow hooks remain. But, it might also be a GSP (Genuine Steel Products from 4WheelParts.com. I've heard it's a less expensive version.

I bought a GSP brushguard from 4WheelParts.com for my 01 Montero 4X4 (Not sport, full size) it was the cheapest around, but the powder coating started to fade after about a year and half later. Other than that it was good, just looked funky after a while. Sup Gordo, another Austinite, Sweet!

I helped install one on my buddies 2005 FX4 last year that was bought on E-Bay from this seller. We were also able to keep the tow hooks on with it (just mounted them under the mounts for the brush guard with the same bolts). Only downside to this one was that the hardware we got with it was stainless, not powdercoated black like the guard itself.

That eBay version (their own brand?) is cheaper. Quality ... no idea. Of course, some folks say the Manik, etc. is not a strong bar either. But, it's not meant to be solid steel, etc. It is what it is. I got my Manik from the dealership for $405 installed.

Manik and GSP are the same exact guard. The only difference is the price, manik being priced higher. I have a GSP and my truck is a 2wd, and I ADDED tow hooks. I got it off ebay for $195. It is exactly the same as Gordo's guard, but I added tow hooks.

My GSP

Gordo's Manik.

Same guard, exactly the same.

that is NOT a WAAG guard- the WAAG guard's headlight bars angle down a bit- - but if you want to know more about the WAAG- just ask...i've got a 1-piece on mine...

the black rig is PenguinFX4 's have you by chance tried PM'ing or email him??
