Getting just slightly over 18mpg

on mine. It's a 2005 Scab XLT 4x4. I do take it very easy and keep the revs below 2K.

Then he (the service manager) tells me "maybe it's time to replace the fuel filter. Replace the fuel filter with only 13K on it??? A friend of mine has the exact same truck with 40K and he's getting 14-16 in town. Any feedback is appreciated

Thanks
OK,

What is your setup, what area do you live in, how many tanks of fuel do you base your findings, what are your driving habits and welcome to F150ONLINE.

Seriously there is not enough info here to help. A little more info here will go a long way.

By the way, there are spelling police here, so be careful about the spelling of "bare"........no telling where that might go.

My personal fuel improvement maintenance program is to use Mobil 1 full synthetic. I have been very surprised on my low mileage vehicles. I don't usually tout that because of many naysayers and all of the " What oil type do you use and why" threads.

The fuel filter fix is kinda a ???? It's clogged and why does it make you use MORE fuel? I still can't figure that one out. Other problems like fuel starvation, hiccups etc....OK

Enjoy the truck and post, soon, with some real info to work with in resolution/suggestions to your dilemma.

Later

My stock (ok, it's got some throaty muffler the previous owner installed) 05 FX4 SCREW gets the same numbers. I just did a 4000 mile trip to Montana and averaged in the 18's on the road with no real difference due to altitude.
