Windshield Tint

1. Does tinting the windshield dramatically reduce heat inside on a sunny day, given all the other windows are tinted.

2. At night, is the windshield tint too dark?

3. I'm thinking about 50%. 35% seems too dark for night driving, is this tru?. Which do you guys prefer? Has anyone removed their windshield tint after getting it? or does everyone who gets it love it?

Windshield tint is illegal in many states. And yes, night driving will suck, even with 35%.

yea I know its illegal, but so is anything below 35% on the front windows, and I'm already planning on doing 15% to the fronts.

What about 50% and night driving? horrible? anyone have any experience with this? or anyone done it and hated it?

When i worked in Los Angeles several years ago, my boss's Nissan Maxima had a tinted windshield. I do not know the percentage of tint, but i'm sure it wasn't darker than 50%. Night driving was fine; seriously.

Most definitely. Especially when the vehicle's parked for some time and that hot summer sun is glaring through the front glass.

Not as dark as you would think. Nowhere near...

At 50% it really isn't a lot of difference in driving conditions, however the oncoming vehicle's glare is dramatically reduced. I've had one vehicle with the front windscreen tinted at 20% [Commodroe SS, back home] and absolutely loved it. I'd do it here in a heartbeat, and have tried on several occasions, but nobody would touch it with a ten foot pole.

Good luck

I'm seriously thinking about going 35% to the front after the responses I've read so far.

My MAIN FEAR is that at night I'm going to HATE driving with 35% on the front. But now I'm thinking 50% really won't even make that much of a difference so why not just go 35% right!

I had next to no problems with 20% but on a deserted road or a low lit road/highway, it did get pretty scary. On the main roads and interstates which are well illuminated, it was fine.

If I could redo it, I would get 35% next time around.

50% here with 5% all around and night driving is no different than before. If I did it again I would go 35 to better match the sides but o well. Yea it is illegal but I have never had a problem with the tint on my truck but when I had my mustang with tinted windshield I had gotten pulled over and ticketed twice in 2 days once but it looked good

my buddy had 20 percent on his windshield and 5 percent on the sides and it would keep so much of the suns heat out of the truck and i live in miami so it gets hot. at night there was no problem seeing the road but if it was raining and at night your going to have to struggle to see

Well I have 5% on my back windows, 35% on my front windows and 35% on my windshield. I Love it. You cant see in when its cloudy out, and when the suns on it, you can hardly see in. I cant even tell its on there during the night.
Heres some pics:

Wow... I think here in Vegas I would get an instant ticket if they saw me driving with the front like that... I would do 50-75% just to have some tint but its like in the $200 range...
By the way I have 5% all the way around
