parking brake issue resolved tomorrow
many of you have heard of my wierd rubbing sound every once in awhile. it was in the passenger rear for sure. it was not a supercharger that a gremlin installed unfortunately! LOL anyway, a new dealership for me to try today and it was confirmed that the passenger rear was indeed hung up. i was told there was a tsp (as i have heard from the boards). supposedly the new shoes are a bit smaller and won't get hung up? that noise was driving me crazy! anyway, as the tech came back with my truck, he also suggested doing the clutch packs. only a mild issue sometimes. so since still under warranty for a few more months am getting that done also. will report back to confirm the issues. the parking brake seems to be an 04 thing from what i was told. and they are rear discs brakes with a drum parking brake for those who were argueing the point a week or so ago. drum inside the rotor it seems. take care....
well, they pulled it apart and cleaned the different parts and lubed well. did not replace the shoes as originally thought. could not find the tsb? anyone have that number anymore? so far so good, but time will tell. they also changed out the clutch packs in the rear. i had been living with it. hasn't been a real problem, but the tech noticed it right away. guess you can get used to some things. a noise i can't get used to! they drive me nuts.....especially when they aren't supposed to make the noise. anyway anyone with a tsb number future reference?
