305 vs 285

Debating on these two sizes in the BFG AT KOs. I had the 285s on my last truck and they were great. Thinking about going to the 305 but wondering if the ride will be noticeably rougher and a big difference in gas mileage & power. Have an 07 FX4 w/2.5" autospring.

I have a 305/50/20 and it rides great, very quiet, no real difference in mileage vs. the stockers. The do offer more rim protection, but with my wheels, they stick out every so slightly, maybe one inch. So if you dont like that look, then stick with the 285. It also depends on the offset of your wheels too.

go with the 305's....they're WAY bigger and, as we all know, "BIGGER IS BETTER!"...

PS- I have 'em on my 18's and love 'em....never going any smaller again....wish they were only a little bigger... _motes

The 305's recommend at least an 8.5" wheel. The FX4 wheels are 7.5. Is this dangerous or will it cause uneven treadwear?

305's fit with an 1.5" auto spring?
