Thanks for all the kind words folks! I know I'm going to love it here - already learned a lot!

Should I look at the "out-of-the-box" tunes via something like the EDGE Controller, or more of a Custom Dynotune by a local Ford Tuner? Regretfully, I must say that the truck feels rather sluggish.

Actually I live in King, just north of Winston Salem. I don't think I've seen you out yet, but I will definitely keep my eyes open from here on out. Looks like you've got a beast!!

Good to see another NC'er here. Hope you're not a Carolina fan!! (or a Duke fan for that matter )

To answer your question...
www.troyerperformance.com
Go there, call them, they can answer everything you could possibly want to know. You'll also get the best tune for your truck should you decide buy from Mike Troyer. There are plenty of people here who will vouch for his work, myself included.

I thought all the new FX4s had the flow throughs, what gives with yours?

Enjoy your new truck!

Not a Duke fan, thankfully.

Thanks for the link! I will check Troyer out.

What are flow throughs?

I don't follow college sports enough to really have a favorite team I guess. I did enjoy watching Commonwealth's victory last night at the bar though, I must say.

When shopping for an FX4 I ran across a bunch that were optioned with the Captain's Chairs & flow-through console (thanks for the pic!), but a couple of them didn't. I guess they were an option.

Well with the EDGE which is the ONLY "out-of-box" tuner I would go with you get more than just a good tune. You also get an appearance product and 4 different digital gauges at one time. You get 1/4 mile and 0-60 times and you can read error codes in your truck if something is wrong. You probably get a little better performance with the troyer tunes 5-10 hp but you dont get the goodies that the EDGE comes with. I personally want to get the troyer tunes and keep my edge for the gauges. Either way you go TRUST me you WILL be happy Heres what the product looks like in the truck.....

The custom tunes give you more than just a few more peak HP... They provide more horsepower across the whole RPM band. Stick your nose into the Chips, Tuners and Programming forums to get more info.

If you want some of those goodies the edge comes with you can get a Scanguage II or DashHawk cheaper than the edge.
