Oops my bad. I read it wrong. I thought you wanted to change out the whole coilover. Yes you need a spring compressor, and yes take it somewhere to have them do it.

 

Don't be scared to do it. If nobody in town will do it, rent the tool and do it yourself. It's not very dangerous, but it just sucks. Compressing the spring cumbersome and awkward.. trying to spin the nut down on the compressor while holding the coil-over is just awkward.

Any shock place should have a spring compressor.
