Where's a 12V wire?

I posted in the electrical forum with little feedback. I need to find where a 12V cigarette hot wire (for my Garmin GPS) is so I can tap into it without ripping the dash out. Anyone got a picture or clue? TIA for any help.

I used my 12v+ from my cig lighter for my XM. You need to pull off the plastic around your radio/ac controls. It pulls off pretty easy. I used a meter to tell which was + and tapped in to it. It is pretty easy. Sorry I dont have any pics.

Is there an easier way? Can I get to one without pulling on the dash?

no, trust me...pulling out the center dash piece is soooooo easy. just grip a corner and pull on it. its only held in with pressure clips.

Yeah, Run a wire to the power lug right next to the fuse box. Just make sure you fuse the wire.

I need some pics guys! I am thinking about popping off the dash to get to the cigarette lighter plug but I sure could use some pics so I don't yank off the dash and screw it up.

I hope this helps.

Kevin :)

This was posted in the "Satellite Radio" section. I used this photo to hook up my PIE. Hope this helps.

eta; IIRC, the black is ground and the Gray/pink was hot.
