Anyone have a billet antenna or shorty chrome/Stainless/Polished antenna?

Do it still look nice? Rust?

Where did you get it?

I bought one about 2 years ago, and within the first year, It rusted all to heck. The tip and the base were Billit aluminum, but the shaft was cheap stainless.. and it rusted.

Looking to replace the antenna with a good one and paint the base.

I have had my billet shorty ant. on for about 7 months now and have no sing of rust or corosion. It could most likely us a polishing. Its made by Allsales manufacturing inc. and sells for around $22.00. I bought it at a local truck acc. store.

Not good or bad, just strange...

 

I have one like that as well, i actually had another one that was a little longer, but it started to oxidize, so i cleaned it, then just ended up painting it black to match my truck. I then bought the shorter one, and put a few coats of clear coat on it before i installed it and havent had a problem yet.

 

Be aware! I bought this one from F150store.com. Description says it's billet aluminium.. "Guarenteed to never rust".. It did rust, and they won't replace it..

There's $20 down the tube.
