Is the Edge worth it?

I'm not a performance freak but I'm thinking about getting the Edge. I have an '06 SCREW with the 5.4 I tow a trailer that approaches 7000lbs when loaded. I was thinking of adding a trans temp gauge and possibly one other but I'm thinking I'd probably be spending nearly $200 on that so I might as well spend another $100 or so and get the Edge and have access to many other paramaters. Not to mention I do think the shift points could be tweaked a bit on this truck - needed whether towing or not.

What do you guys think?

How does using the something like the Edge affect your warranty?

Thanks

I have the Edge and really enjoy all the gauge info. If i were doing heavy towing, would definitly want a tuner, either the Edge or Troyer's Xcal2 (but it does not have gauges). Yes, many dealers would try to say the Edge caused your problem if it could possibly be related. That is one of the reasons some go back to stock and remove it when going to the dealer. My dealer is one of those, so i waited until my warranty was almost out before getting the Edge. I have about 12,000 miles on it since adding the tuner with no problems.

I have the edge and love it. Just return to stock mode and remove it when going to your dealer and you'll be fine

I also just got a trailer and wanted to put in a transmission temp gauge and decided to just get the edge.

It's nice, you can set an alarm for some of the things it monitors at a set point you decide in addition to showing them on the gauge if you want.

So say you want to know when the trans fluid is at 200 you can set that and it will alarm if it gets to that temp.

The change on the transmission shift points is also nice in level 2.

Have it, would not own another F150 without it. It has more capability than I'll ever need.

It's well worth it IMO....it adds a nice amount of performance increase, but most of all, I like the way it looks and the various guages.
