Hi all. I am interested in an exhaust setup for my 2005 4.6 V8. Not TOO loud, just enough to let everyone know I have a good old Ford V8 under the hood.

 

I had a flowmaster 40 series with dual exhaust setup on my old 4.6. It had a nice tone, not too loud. The only thing I didnt like was the drone around 2,000 RPM. You'll find a lot of different opinions around here on this topic.

 

I had a Magnaflow 24" cut in and a tip added. I went the 24 route over the 18 so it wouldn't be as loud and drone prone. It drones badly at 1900-2100 rpm but I'm getting used to it now, otherwise it sounds good enough for me.

 

I had a local shop (Mineke I believe) put what was called a "torpedo pack" on my 4.6 and it was alot cheaper than a flowmaster or anything like that....and it sounds awesome!! I wish i would of went with stainless now that I live in England...
