Supercab Door Rattle

I have a 2005 F150 supercab lariat and every time I hit a decent sized dump in the road like a man hole cover it sounds like my doors are open. Can anyone tell me what is wrong so I know what to tell the Ford guy? Also, what is with the really squishy bed bushings? I can just be riding down the road and hit a reflector on the road and my bed jiggles. WTF is that?

Your rear door is out of adjustment from not being shut all of the way. Make sure that you slam the rear door pretty good, and double check to see if it is locked in place before you take off. Had a work truck with this problem, and also with my new FX4.

I was gonna thread this same subject.........
Thats very wierd that you posted this today. I am actually having this same problem, (the rattling) looked at today by ford. I have the super cab as well in the fx4 and have heard the rattling for the last 6 months. I havent noticed the bed moving on me though. I wil post when I get home what was wrong with the rattling. Until then read a paper, or watch your local news........

I have this rattle when I don't close the back doors all the way. I know that I have to slam so really the only times that it happens is when other people ride in my truck that don't know.

X's 3.

My doors have to be closed forcefully or I get the rattle. No issues with the bed, at least not yet.

If the door not being closed is not the culprit, check out your speaker. My door rattled constantly. When they went to replace my blown factory speaker, the service monkey discovered that the speaker had only 1 screw holding it in. They think that's what caused the speaker to fail. I think its because the factory speakers in pretty much any vehicle are junk.

KC-10 FE out...

Ive taken mine to a couple different dealers several times for my Scab door rattle. They all said that the doors are adjusted properly and they all do that. One said it was a design flaw and that there was nothing I could do. Ive tried slamming the doors and everything, but as soon as I hit a pot hole or bump, the doors sound like they are about to fall off. I think its due to the lack of B pillar, but a friend of mines Silverado doesnt rattle at all.

If anyone has a fix post it, I just try to ignore it now, but it is very annoying.

Ok so Im back from the dealer now and there wasn't much they could tell me. He said that he tightened everything that he could and couldnt tell if he fixed it because he couldn't hear it in the first place. If I hear it again I will take it back again, they probably know about this and its too costly to repair for every truck.

door rattle

After four trips to the dealership, I've still got the same rattle. They've installed sound absorbing tape and replaced the door locking mechanism. Each "fix" works for about a week, just long enough to get me out of their hair, then the rattle starts again. I've also got the cat heat shield rattle going on. Two trips for that problem and it's still not fixed.

even though i don't have the screw, my back door rattles bad too. the little quarter door in the back i mean. same scenario, going over a bumpy road, it sounds like somethings loose with the door and its rattling on the striker. i've gone through everything and haven't found what could cause it..

i do have to check the speaker though...

On bumps my doors will rattle even on my regular cab. On my 99 supercab it was horrible. Drove me insane, and I could see the doors bouncing up and down it was so bad. Could barely keep your arm on the rest on the door panel they would bounce so much. Im scared my regular cab is going to end up like that.
Just a shatty design if you ask me.

I also noticed my bed jiggles around. I though it was loose, but I guess thats "normal" as Ford would say ??
