SilverStar fog lights for the 04 are 9145ST. They have been out for quite a while.

The 9005's are headlights that can replace your stock fog's if you really want some more light on the road.

I swear some people had problems adding the 9005 bulbs in the fog lights; fog light housings melting.

Haven't really used my highbeams at all since putting in silverstars in my headlights and fogs on my 04. I run my fogs all the time when I turn my lights on and the 4 lights are more than enough light for any situation.

Do you know if its the older style fogs 04-05 or the newer round fogs 06-07?

I have the 9145st's in for fogs and I like the difference, but i'd like a little more without going to HID. The last thing I would want is the housing to melt with 9005's. Which leads me to ask, aren't HID's hot?

I went the 9005's after first having purchased the 9145's and I have to warn those considering this route that they are VERY bright. So bright that they, to a degree, over-ride the same model Silverstars in the heads. If you don't adjust the height on the beam of the 9005's in the fogs, then you'll get several incredibly irrate drivers. Be warned!

As for the fog-light housing melting due to the higher wattage, higher heat production; let me say that I recently did a roundtrip journey from here [Rich, VA] to Little Rock, AK [a tad under 2K miles] and ALL of it was done at night with the fogs running non-stop - absolutely no lense housing melting, no discoloration, no nothing!

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but one would think it would have happened with a little under 15hrs of non-stop operation one way, then the same thing under the same operating conditions the other.

Safge driving.
