I just had my diff. serviced and they put in Supreme 80W90/Syn with a Premium posi additive. And I should note the oil in the diff. was dirty which i found interesting due to the fact I only have 20K on my truck and I don't really tow.

I changed my diff fluid to 75w140 and it runs great, I added no friction modifier and my LS still has trouble locking up...it's just worn. I am thinking of doing a lincoln back there because I'm getting a little tired of how it performs offroad.

Which Purp Cranium are you going with, if they weren't pricey I'd get one in a heartbeat...

You put friction modifier in if you have LS.... you said you didn't put it in and it slips.... might want to put some in and see what happens.

If I use friction modifier it will be even worse. The Royal Purple Synth I used was for LS and had the correct ratio already in.

im going with a spider rock guard powder coated yellow and a chrome diff cover, really its just for looks and i like it. will post pics saturday if all goes well. i am having the girlfriend do the first project on the truck all by herself with a little guidance, it will turn out good, and then hope to get exhaust that same day and remote start on sunday.

thanx for all the input guys, i am still going to go with the 75w140, hope thats a good choice.

That's going to look great on a yellow rig. I really want one on mine and probably will order one eventually, I like the candy coated blue rock guard on candy coated blue diff cover.

edit: looks great!
