Clogged up wheel wells!! SNARDS!

Ok here's the deal... Truck works great in the snow being only a 2wd. So that's not the problem. However, I am having a HUGE issue with snow getting stuck in the wheel wells. Now my queston:

What's the best way to clean them?

I've been using buckets of hot water and a plastic shovel with no sharp blades or edges. I don't want to mess my wheel wells up nor scratch the paint to rust.

Today it got soooo clogged up that the rear wheels were rubbing on the snow 1/2 way around the tire! I spent like an hour melting the snow just off the rear... the front was about the same!

My 1999 F150 never did this... there seems like there is more space to get more snow hung up.

Have you tried shooting the wheel wells with spray silicone or maybe even PAM cooking spray? I know it makes mud clean-up easier.

I tried the PAM trick... it works!!! Where'd you get that idea from? Thanks though!

PS - Now I've gotta keep a few cans of PAM in my truck... will work great for cookouts, haha!!!

Don't listen to him, what he's not telling you is that in mid july it's like 115 in the shade. I know I used to live out there, and I came to my senses and moved the hell out. I was there when the hottest official temp in Phx was recorded 126 F on june 16 1990, and the temp is recorded 50 feet up in the air, it was in the high 130's down on the pavement, your shoes would melt to the sidewalk. That heat can be brutal. And to those people who say that it's a dry heat, well so is sticking your head in a damn oven! I'll take the snow and cold any day over that brutal unforgiving heat and 6 dollar an hour jobs.

Hey, thats not true. It's much hotter in Palm Springs, CA where I live. Try 135 one summer, taken at the weather station at the airport, which is up on the radar tower. Yeah, frying eggs on the pavement, flesh sticking to the asphalt kind of hot. But, I was born and raised here and I love it.

Well why dont you go to the car wash joint where you can use a high-pressure wand with hot water, here in my town we have those so check around where you live. Also after you are done try to dry off your well wells and spray them down with tire dressing also works fine on your doors.

Hmm... I got bottles and bottles of stuff like that. I'll give it a whack this week. I know of one place that uses hot water during the winter months. Sounds like it'll work. I guess there is more than one way to "skin a cat" sort of speak.
