Bug Sheild

Okay guys I have a 2005 F-150 Extended cab 4x4 with the 5.4 motor. My problem is I can't find a bug sheild that will fit my truck I have bought two from Auto Zone and the are to narrow and have tore the **** out of my paint. Please tell me the brand that works best for my truck and where you are getting them? Any help will be much appreciated.

I had a Stampede on my '04, but it made the hood shimmy too much at speeds over 65MPH.

I have the chrome factory bug deflector on my 06'. You can get it through the dealer. Has the F150 logo, and looks great, imo.

The EGR "AeroWrap" is good quality, in my experience. I had one of their shields on my truck...took it off because I didn't want the look, but it was a solid shield, didn't move around, and was very stout.

Does your chrome deflector just go from one side of the grille to the other, or all the way across the hood? I've seen chrome ones at the dealership that just do the grille portion.

if you're refering to the area at the cowl, there is an easy fix for that.

To answer the original question- I have AVS that fits perfectly. It is from Pep Boys and if I'm not mistaken, AVS makes the Ford shield.

Keep in mind, you need to use the "bumpers" to avoid the ends of the shield hitting the paint.

I have the [same truck as you], Cadmaster, and I agree with jimmy k. The AVS fits great.

Edit - no I don't, I have a 1999. I don't know why I read your post so completely wrong the first time. Sorry.

Another vote for AVS. Fit and finish are perfect and looks very low profile. Got mine from Pepboys for around $48.

When the sheild turn down next at the grill it hits falls about 1-2 inch's short. As for the lenght of the sheild it falls about 2 inch's short of the width of the hood on both sides.

I went through the phase 14 years ago, and I think I wouldn't do it again...JMHO. I still got chips on my hood even when I had a bug shield, and the look is too "old man" for me.

I put a bugflector II on my 2000 I decided not to put one on my 05. The Bugflector fit well on my old 2000 I sure it would work well on the 04 and up trucks.

I have the AVS bugflector II, works great, no problems. I have friends with the "driver design" brand. Thats also a nice shield, very stiff.
