Older pic towing the CJ-7

Even older pic towing the bronco II

Another old pic towing the long since destroyed and parted out 90 ranger.

Real old pic towing the Omega, maybe like a month after getting the truck.

Part of me wishes I would have never made the truck bigger because it never tows as nice as it did stock. It still tows just fine though and pulls like a dream, even with 3:55 gears.

here's what I tow with my 150. It does good but up here in Alaska, at least where I live, no matter which way you go there's mountains and they can let you know that something really heavy is behind you. There is a few inclines that get me down but I can maintain at least 55-60MPH, most of them i can maintain 65. On average I get about 10 MPG when towing.
And just for reference it's a 25ft Nomad TT, And the wheeler is a 05 Honda Foreman, the truck is a 04 Crewcab FX4 w/5.4 auto and 3.73 LS rear end and of course all the mods in my sig.

I have a 25' Weekend Warrior. It wieghs about 7000 lbs. I run about 60 on flat ground, 35 mph on the uphill parts. Popped on of the cats the first time I towed it. Warped the exhaust manifold the last time. Ive probably towed it a half a dozen times. Not very happy with the performance, going to buy a 3/4 ton when the rebates are better. I wouldnt recommend anything over 6K and preferably closer to 5K.

Tow 27 foot (overall) 7-8K lb Toy Hauler almost every weekend in camping season in the mountains of Western NC, TN, VA (see photo). Towed 33 foot car hauler at approx 10k lbs (loaded) from DC to WNC a few weekends ago for a friend. It pulled it OK at Freeway speeds.... but I wouldn't want to make it a habit of towing that one in the mountains around here.

I know it's an old thread, I started it earlier this year-and I just said the other day "sorry for bringing back an old thread..."

Hauled this across the state with no problems.

That turned into this by the way...

I haul this all the time, and hardly know it's there. Of course, it only weighs about 1500 lbs. at the most with all 6 gallons of gas on board.

Heres one to make the Lightning guys cringe. Truck on the way to exhaust shop after headers. Was only about 3 miles and never got over 45mph. Truck had about 1/2'' clearance on the trailer.

I tried doing that with my last F-150...once the nice folks at U-haul understood I was going to put a 4x4 on their trailer, they put me on some sort of list and refused to rent me a trailer...

I've only towed a 88 Suburban on a flat trailer with 2 7k axle and brakes...did alright. especially considering the Suburban outwieghed my truck (not even counting the trailer wieght). with that kind of wieght, a Superduty is better suited, but it'll do for the occasional tow

sorry, no pics

GotBeer, I too warped my exhaust manifold and had a terrible exhaust leak. I had to remove it and have it shaved down. Same thing happen to you? This happened without towing.

Some where around 9,000 lbs. 65 easy on flat ground, and 40 with foot to the floor on a preety steep grade.

I warped my pass side while towing. It was a very distintive noise when I did it. I was towing in 85 deg weather.

I had an annoying exhaust tick after doing it. It was very loud if the window was down and close to an object on that side (it would bounce the sound off). I had to have it resurfaced, it too, happened on my passenger side.
