Picture Request-HU

k so my PIE adaptor is coming in the mail in a few days.
and i was hoping to save a little time by not having to remove my head unit.

so can anyone show me a picture of the backside of the stock HU 6 disc? and en-circle the slot my adaptor will plug into.

this way i can just reach back their and snap it in without having to remove the HU.

Thanks Everyone

I highly recommend that you take the 1 minute it takes to unbolt the 4 bolts that hold the head-unit in. Trying to plug that in, in the dark you could bend a pin and ruin the pie... just use a socket and take the 4 bolts out...

well wasnt sure how long it took to take out.

so after the four bolts, does it just slide out? do i need to disconnect anything while taking it out?

i just figured it would be a easy slip in if i just knew where the socket was in the back.

You should be able to take the bolts out, and then it will just pull out, there is tons of room around the thing. There should be enough wire with the harnesses to pull the HU out without having to undo the harnesses, if not, it's not a big deal to pull them out... you could try to do it in the dark but remember it's better to do something right the first go round then messing something up... Dad always told me, it's not worth doing unless you do it right.

It will take longer to mess with a mirror and flashlight than it will to remove the 4 bolts...

I second that. In all honestly it'll take you longer to pull the trim around the radio off than it will for you to remove the head unit. It'll literally take you longer to find the right size socket than it will to remove the head unit and disconnect the wires in the back. What I'm getting at is this...it's really easy. Don't risk messing up your head unit. Take it out and do it right. It would suck to have a good looking truck with a messed up radio.
