New Dash Pod Mod

Well I have a 2 5/8 gauge and couldnt find a gauge pod that I liked, so i decide to make something. I am still in the prototype stage and it just has poly/dex on it. The finished product will be fiberglassed when i get all the bugs worked out. But hey it works for the time being.

frame work that i still need to tweek

bracketry to use existing tray mountin solution.

Mounted on dash

another view

so what do yall think?

I still have a A-piller gauge pod to install with my 2 1/16 gauges but it is too dang cold out today.

Looks pretty slick, do you get any glare of the face of the gauge since its not pointing right at you? I bet you could fit two in there, and turn them to face you. That would look killer!

no glare but i may change it up a bit to angle them towards me, but I may just buy the angle rings from autometer. It is set up to run 3 2 5/8 gauges and I think there is enough room to angle all three depending on what the last gauge to the right will be. Otherwise I left it open to either put switches or smaller 2 1/16 gauges in there.
not sure what I am going to do but it beats the heck out of having my boost gauge in the drink holder.

I am going to try and match the flat black of the tray that was there so that it matches the radio bezel. I may farm out the fiberglassing because i dont have the patience to work with it. but we will see, this is my first attempt to building something this custom.

Oops. Just reread your post and see you already have a 2 5/8' gauge. The pod I posted is for 2 1/16", sorry.

Looks good. I wouldn't mind having something like that for my satellite radio.

Very slick, me like. I'd like one for my Edge, maybe an iPod, but I'd also like it to collapse and be hidden when parking somewhere. That's not too much to ask for is it?

Hey GB150, turn the AC down a bit...Max AC on 3 and a sunny day at 6 o'clock...dammit I hate winter!
