It has to be outside. I got a warning once in my car, i didn't have my front plate on, I made an excuse about the bracket being broken, besides I had the plate in the car and showed the officer the plate. She let me off, but I think it was because she was hitting on me. Not!

I know that they are the law here in Va. as well. I just hate how the plate looks on the front! These trucks just have a much cleaner look without them! I guess I'm tempting fate as well, but I'll see how long I can go. So far, 7 months and I'm ok!

I'm running naked up front as well! Nothing looks worse on a nice vehicle than a front license plate in a tacky factory bracket!

Since I put so few miles on my vehicle, I'm betting the odds that I won't get busted, but you never know. I've even thought about applying some magnetic tape to my front plate and just sticking it on temporarily when I go somewhere......

All I can say is if DPS thinks I'm putting a front plate on my soon-to-be-purchased Mustang (the new GT's require you to drive sheetmetal screws through the front bumper cover ), they're smoking CRACK!

Fx4 you're gonna have to let us know what total out of pocket cost is, so we know what we are up against.

Its all in good fun friend. Greetings from Aggieland!

All my cousins went to atm, so its nothing new. You might know the last one who graduated if you have been there a while. I hated living in the dorm was the deal. . ugh they suck. I also hate how everything has to do w/ fraternities, if you arent in one your basically a nobody. I have been considering atm, but tech still holds loyalty when it comes time to transfer back.

I also live in Va an I have not been ticketed in my F-150 but I also have a Ranger that I dont run a front tag on, and I did get one in it. I went to court and the judge just asked me if I had it back on I said yes and it was dismissed. What I did was mount the tag to the passenger side visor and when I ride it I just flip down the visor. In Va the law says you have to display a forward facing plate. It doesnt say where it has to be. (last time I checked) [IMG][/IMG]

i don't mind plates on a pickup or vehicle with bumpers and a place for the bracket--its sports/muscle cars that don't have an integrated bracket that the plates bother me

sorry about your ticket

yep, the law in the small town that i live in can be real hardasses sometimes. I'm running illegal tint on the front sides and the eyebrow strip. I dont need another reason for them to pull me over and start loading me up with fines and slashing my tint.

Right now i have my front plate zipped tied to the skid plate of my bull bar. Will develop some type of bracket later when it warms up to secure it better.

Get one of those smoked plate covers at your local auto store. Believe me it makes a huge difference when you have an ugly plate. They may not be leagal in all states, but at least its there. Ive had mine covered ever since ive been in Alaska and there illegal, never been pulled over.
