Thought it might be worth a read. I've been on ebay looking for my next mod :D [click above image]

Secondary question. Will OEM Supercab running boards mount on my Supercrew and be functional?

FX4_Guy Jan 12, 2007 11:05 AM

I might have missed it but I don't see where you can adjust timing for different octanes of gas.

About the running boards, I am pretty sure the mounting positions are different between the scab and screw. Won't mount up.

I wonder if that programmer is any good. Any body have any thoughts?

The professor Jan 12, 2007 01:41 PM

I know 3 people who have them on the 5.3 chevy engine and they do wonders with them. I still like the edge because it gives you gauges.:beers:

"Bully Dog performance for your gasoline powered Ford truck

The Power Pup Downloader is a programmer/tuner that downloads horsepower and performance enhancing programs into '04-'06 Ford F-150s with either 4.6L or 5.4L V8 engines. The downloader offers two different engine tunes above stock to accommodate various driving conditions.

Stock Tune: Choosing the Stock Engine Tune will result in not change to engine horsepower output, but all other downloader features are available.

Regular Tune: The Regular Engine Tune is recommended for use with 85 or 87 octane gasoline. For maximum effectiveness it is recommend that shift firmness and shift points be increased. This tune can be used for everyday driving and towing.

Premium Tune: The Premium Engine Tune is recommended for use with 91 or 93 octane gasoline. Again increases in shift firmness and shift points are recommended with this tune. This tune can be used for everyday driving and off highway racing.

The Ford Power Pup also included these additional features: Transmission Tuning, Transmission Shift Points, Speed Limiter Adjustment and Reading and Erasing Diagnostic Trouble Codes. All operations take place inside the cab with the Power Pup hooked up to the OBDII port.

Unit Price: 439.99 "

Sounds Cool :rocker:

bushtree Jan 13, 2007 01:33 PM

I know bullydog is good for diesels, don't know about gas engines. Hmmm, must research.

Agree they are the Sh&t on a deisel. Dont know about gas though.

FX4life Jan 13, 2007 08:55 PM

On that show extreme 4x4 they used this bullydog pup programmer, on a ford diesel. idk if anyone saw that episode where they built the "s.o.r.p." truck, but they used that programmer and then mounted a bullydog outlook monitor on the A pillar in a pod like the edge. .it was pretty cool, idk about the tunes for a gas burner though.
