2007 Heavy Duty XLT 4x4
 

I just got home with my new truck.

I ordered it exactly as you see, and its the third one I have owned in the same configuration.

The last two were Lariats. This one is an XLT, because they wont let you order a Lariat with an 8 foot bed anymore.

8 foot bed: Load Motorcycle, close gate. Load Plywood, close gate. Do you sense a theme here?

This truck has a Heavy-Duty Package, because you cant have a long bed SuperCab without it anymore. It has a 4.10 rear & a 9400lb payload capacity. I'm not sure what to do with this extreme engineering-

Driving home from the dealer, I see what all are talking about. My 2003 seemed to have some jump, and this truck is blocking itself...

I was reading about the Troyer Stage One Package which is the XCal2, Intake, and Cat-Back Duals...The price seems right...

If you look at my signature picture, I'm sure we all can agree that the HD rear leafs really make this thing stand on its nose-levelers are in order.

And lastly-#@*@#!*% 7-LUG RIMS!!!! I cant even stand that Ford invented a 7-Lug Hub that even they won't source some decent rims for. YES, I know who sells them(Centerline/Alba), but I actually had to drive away from the dealer with the same rims certified for road crew trucks!

Its going to take some time sorting this thing out.

For others with the HD Package: I have petitioned the webmaster to create a "F150 Heavy Duty" category, because these trucks do have their very own issues, and primarily it would be easier to get specific info. I haven't gotten a reply yet...but its the holidays.

I like to see some pictures of trucks like mine, to see your mods, etc. I cant even get a good search for this truck...

Try these covers. I put these on my truck 04 8' HD 7 lug etc..
Fit well, inexpensive, well made. Great compromise til something better comes along.

No, you have to go to the F-250 for that.

Yea, its a big truck-but its my third one this big, and it does have some advantages.

Primarily, the wheelbase makes it a great freeway truck (hence the handle). if you set the cruise control, it basically steers itself. I usually get a foldable bed cover, and that really makes the ride smooth because it eliminates buffeting from the tail gate.

It also drives great in 4 x in the snow-once again the length prevents it from swapping ends.

My 8 foot arched Motorcycle ramps fit in the bed, and get locked up-you dont want to know what they cost.

This new body style has a 6" longer cab dimension, and I see all the length in the rear doors-they're like real suicide doors. I don't see the rear seat any bigger, but its still big enough for my newborn for the next ten years, and my Plott Hounds.

Speaking of the hounds, they're getting their first ride now-out to the trails for a rabbit chase or two.....
