Magnaflow Christmas music!
Santa brought me a Magnaflow 16612 SISO for Christmas. I went out, bolted it on this afternoon, and took it for spin up to Lexington and back. It makes pretty V8 Christmas music. Merry Christmas everyone! :santa:
If you don't mind me asking, what did you guys pay for your Magnaflow exhausts??
I saw around $645 for a SI/SO online at magnaflow.com Part# 16613
Is this what you guys have??
What would be the difference between dual and single??
This is my next "mod" and I want to make sure its the right one, and I will be happy with it...

I got my 16612 at www.hottexhaust.com for about 400 shipped. There were coupon codes floating around back then, but I don't know about now.
Great mod! You can get a custom si/do system done like I did using the 5x8x18 muffler which is the same one that comes with the kits or 5x8x14 if you want a little louder. It cost me about $275 if I remember correctly.

thx

I love the sound of my MagnaFlow system as well -- I have the SIDO version. In fact, when I ordered my truck back in '05, I didn't even bother with getting an upgraded stereo system because I knew the thing I wanted to listen to when I was out driving around my truck was the nice, deep rumble of exhaust!
FYI -- I got my MagnaFlow from Hottexhaust.com as well when I purchased it. They easily had the best price (using their coupon code) when I was shopping around about 1-1/2 years ago.

I got my 16612 cat-back from www.hottexhaust.com and used the coupon "fordtruck8" to get around $80.00 off. It ended up costing me $377 and some change. I got the system on my doorstep 2 days after ordering, excellent service considering it was ordered just before Christmas.

DTheobald,
I had the 16614 SIDO on my 04 scab and I really loved the smooth tone and mellow rumble it had. I sold it to another member here when I traded trucks and decided to try the 16612 SISO after hearing the one on RockPick's truck. The 16612 SISO has a slightly different beat to it and just a little more coarse tone due to being just one pipe. It seems to be just a touch louder than my 16614 SIDO was but I am certain it is my imagination, since I just replaced the quiet stock 40 lb. pontoon of a muffler. I detect just the slightest hint of drone at 1800-1900 RPM and that may be due to having the undercover tonneau on the bed.

hey, you guys that are ordering your exhaust online....are you putting them on yourselves? or are you taking it to a shop...if you are doing it yourself...is it hard, or do you need and special tools for it?
you could do it yourself. I had mine done at a Minakee ( spelling ) muffler shop, they also build performance exhaust systems. They took the factory one off in one piece and had the 16614 catback kit bolted on in about 20 minutes. They asked if I wanted it welded up. Sure did, no leaks and done. It will be the only exhaust I put on this truck. Now I just wish I could find some black tips, no chrome or polished stainless anywhere visible on this truck ( just had all emblems and ford ovals painted black last week ) ...

Long story short -- don't be intimidated by doing your own exhaust. If you have the basic shop tools (floor jack, jack stands, a decent socket set) and a rudimentary level of mechanical aptitude, you should be able to install your own system in an afternoon.
I put mine on myself in the driveway backed up on a pair of ramps for clearance to remove the factory pontoon. It was 41*F and I was going as fast as I could but it still took me a couple of hours.
