May Trade 06 F150 Screw for 03 F350 Screw

Need opinions on the matter. It's my dad's 03 F350 Screw with a 7.3L Diesel 6 speed. Only thing is it has 90,000 miles. Should this worry me? Love my 06 F150, but it's a 4.6.

Please help. Torn between 2 Fords.

MIAmiF150 (Might have to change the sign in name)

How would that work? You give him the F-150, he gives you the 350? I'd do it, if he were willing to give you some cash along with the trade. Do you have a note on the truck? How would that be handled?

u do not have to worry abut the miles diesels last forever 90K miles is nothing. and the 7.3 was a great motor, far better then the new 6.0 diesel. and they make alot of stuff to do to that truck, lifts and performance stuff for the diesel.

Guess it depends on what you are planning on doing with the trucks. If you are just cruzz'n town, or a comuter vic, the F150 is probalby the way to go. If you are a monster truck or haul'n work truck, then you might go with the F350. All depends on your mood. Good luck.....

I would sell my truck, which I have 30-45 days to do so. Then buy his when he receives his new truck. Simple deal if I can line up all the ducks..

I would definitely be modifying the hell out of the diesel.

Do you need an F350 or just want one? Yeah, the engine has 90,000 miles and will probably last for a long time, but the rest of truck has 90,000 miles on it also. Everything from the seats and interior to the paint, the tranny, axles etc etc etc....... There's a lot more to maintain and think about think about than just the motor.

You may wnat to check into tagging and insurance for the F350. From what I understand about registration in FL you will pay $100 for the F350 vs $50 for the F150 per year. I'm not sure what happens to insurance between the 2.

If he is going to be "modifying the hell out of the diesel", I seriously doubt he cares about an additional $4.17/month for registration fees.

Personally, if you don't need the diesel for towing, I would keep the F150. The ride is so much better, and 90k miles is a lot, diesel or not. As was said before, the whole truck has 90k. If you could get by on just an engine, sure, you can talk about only having 90k on a diesel. But it's kinda hard to go anywhere without a tranny, or rearend, or...

If I were you the F150 would be sitting with a FOR SALE sign in it right now. But thats just me. If you do get the F350 go to thedieselstop.com, the guys over there can get you hooked up with what ever you may want or need for a Power Stroke.

The great thing about the F350 is that my dad owned it and I now it was dealer serviced it's entire 90,000 miles and my dad drives like a 95 year old man even though he is 62. He never speeds and has only towed his boat (32 footer) about 6 times. I don't worry about the tranny since it is a stick shift and it just had the pump replaced two weeks ago. Aside from a little dirt, it was just his daily driver.

Yes it would be a daily driver with minor towing duties in the future. But my dad does get 22 mpg while I only get 14. And Mr. Gale Banks would be my best friend.

I'm not supporting the arguement either way, but a diesel would be nice and it would be my upgrade in the future and my dad would sell me his truck for $17,000-$18,500 only. But I do like my F150 even though it is a 4.6L, I love the quiet and smooth ride (for a truck) that I get out of it.

I can just see the 22.5" ALCOAs on the dually already.........
