Poll: Which Probs Has Your Truck Had?

If my memory is correct, when our new body style came out for 04 they advertised like $6 million invested in the Research & Design of this truck. Remember the guy standing under the truck being held by one bed bolt? From all the "common" problems found all over this website, what did they research? Please list the year, model, mileage, and acknowledge if your truck has any of these known problems. 1. Spark plugs break 2. Brake rotor problems 3. Transmission shudder 4. Elec. window motor failure 5. Cam phasers ticking 6. And feel free to list any other problem your truck may have. Mine is a 04 xlt 5.4L 53K with plug breakage, trans shudder before I got my tuner, and I have 1 elec.motor that doesn't roll up, and the other is slowing down. Thanks

1. Not possible my truck is not subject to that one (4.6)
2. Yep, and they fixed it quickly and fully, no argument, at 2 years.
3. Not possible my truck is not subject to that one (4.6)
4. Not possible my truck is not subject to that one (STX)
5. Not possible my truck is not subject to that one (4.6)

6. Faint ticking from fan blower, fixed. Plastic burr on the blower wheel.
7. Pad recall, fixed, no problems.
8. Gas tank replaced at new. One of 140 trucks with bad tank from builder. Another 1200 also had a different bad tank.
2004 STX Regular cab, 4.6.

Four problems, Brakes, pad, gas tank, blower motor,
Only one important was brakes and they did that on my request, no argument. New brakes, new pads, new rotors, new bearings. Stops better than new.

LOL, Chris I'd never thought I'd say this, but damn I wish I would have bought the smaller engine. The 4.6 sat quietly in the back ground and the 5.4 has been in the spot light with all the issues.

2005 Lariat 18K bought 1-28-2006 I think it was built at the Dearborn Plant

1, N/A
2, Very very slight shimmy since it was new. I replaced them with some upgraded rotors, no more shimmy.
3,NO
4,NO
5,It has a slight tick when cold but not hot would that still be a cam phaser
6, Complete sunroof and headliner replaced shortly after I bought it. Maybe 5K
7, Radio replace (Audiophile unit) Keep ejecting cds @15K
8, antenna cable replaced twice. @6K and (18K new cable on order)First one was stripped out on the base at the antenna from the factory. second one do ---to poor radio reception.
9, Drive belt replace once with a new tensioner pulley @12K. Belt squeals again 18K
10, Breakline vent leaked connection at the rear axle and had to be resealed @12K
11, Steering wheel replaced, sticky leather @15K
12, Rail dust removed @12K

I have two other issues

1, The rear power slider doesn't work so well in the cold.
2, The A/C doesn't blow less than 50 deg when it's over 95 deg out.

Wow I guess I am one of the lucky ones.

2004 Lariat 5.4L with 3.73 LSD.

Currently 60533 miles.
Don't know about spark plugs yet, haven't tried changing them.

The only 2 problems the car has had are a noisy front swaybar link (replaced both). And a faulty park/neutral position switch.

Other than it has just had regular maintenance and runs like new.

I will end up replacing the shocks with either Bilsteins or Ranchos in the spring as the rear shocks are starting to get mushy.

Silver 2005 F-150 SuperCab 6.5' bed
37,200

1.Havent attempted yet.
2.brought to a dealer. told they we're most likely warped. however, they dont pulse all the time and do it worse depending on how hard im braking. also soft pedal. i'll get this resolved when i can.
3. if i "get on" the gas at just the "right" moment during acceleration from a stop or either going around a corner it feels as if its going into neutral and then slamming into a gear ( probably 1st) doesnt do it all the time only under "certain" conditions.. has done it with dad in the truck and he thinks its the L/S differential catching..
4. passenger side window opens/closes slower then crap rollin uphill.. im waiting for it to fail so they can replace it under my ESP plan.
5. theres a ticking but i can only here it with the head open and im standing infront of the engine. and its coming from both sides.. im thinking its the injectors.. i'd have to hear an engine with an actuall cam phaser "tick" to know if i have it or not..
6. theres various vibrations throughout the cab, the crappy plastic trim vibrates in all 4 doors to the bass coming from the door speakers.
The bed shakes. these stock Chrome Clad Steel wheels dent easier then crap rolling down hill. both front emblems we're replaced for peeling at 5k.. an A/C resister blew leaving only fan settings 3/4 working..

the plastic bed caps are for the birds.. i was able to put a mark in them with my fingernail most of the plastic on this truck is crappy..

theres rust behind the front chrome bumper.. the rear had it as well. untill it was hit by an 87 firebird and then replaced.. theres also rust under the bed where the bed mounts to the frame.. quite a bit actually..

all in all i love the truck.. if it wasnt for the brake issue it'd be perfect.

Built like a FreightTrain.. A Ford Freight Train...
